Dear Cooper Families,

In an effort to stay connected with students and families over the next few weeks, we wanted to send out some helpful information.

We HIGHLY recommend and encourage our students to complete the learning packets over the next few weeks.  Packets contain ELA, Math and STEM activities.  In addition to the learning packets, students should read everyday for at least 30 minutes.  This can be independently, with someone or a combination. Ask your child questions about what they are reading.  Ask them where they are making connections to their own experiences and the world around them. Have them practice making predictions, identifying the problem in the story and the solution.  Would they solve the problem the same way? How would they have solved the problem? These higher level thinking questions help them apply what they are reading. Reading a mix of fiction and nonfiction is a fantastic idea.

Teachers will also be providing on-line and web resources for content as well.  You will be receiving emails directly from your classroom teachers.

Learning packets have been scanned and linked to our Plainwell Community School Website in case you need extras.

Please check our Cooper Youtube Channel for daily updated videos.  We want students to know that we’re thinking of them and care about them.  There will be video’s with teachers reading and doing fun activities.

If you need food assistance, starting Tuesday March 17th we’ll have sites available where you can get breakfast and/or lunch.  This is a Grab and Go meal. Locations will be announced through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by the district. SchoolMessenger will be used as well.

I will check email frequently if you have any questions. Be safe and please take all precautions seriously to help you and your family stay healthy.  It’s been inspiring to see so many people within the community helping each other. Help your neighbor if possible, if you know they need information about our community and schools, please pass it on to them.
